Liz Alcock earned a Bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in Massachusetts in 1994, majoring in Sociology, and minoring in French. She then went on to earn a Master’s of Science degree in Education (College Student Personnel Administration) from Indiana University in 1996. She has over 24 years of experience working in higher education with students (both undergraduate and graduate) and faculty.

She joined the Physics Department in August 2016, and serves as a Faculty Assistant, where she has various sundry responsibilities, such as course preparation, assistance with proposals and grant reports, managing weekly seminars, and coordinating guest visits and their schedules.

Before joining the team in the Physics Department, she held various roles in Student Affairs at other colleges and universities, where she provided trainings on a variety of educational issues. She has also held roles involving languages and learning and project management. Her most recent role, before coming to Harvard, was in the Office of Sponsored Programs at Boston University, where she managed the budget process for clinical trials and sponsored research. In this role, she worked closely with Principal Investigators, researchers, and members of industry.
